As an alternative to cash in your account, you can buy Money Market mutual funds or High Interest Savings Account (HISA) funds. These funds do not have an applicable commission charge, nor a minimum holding period, nor a short-term redemption fee. Each fund company has its own Money Market mutual fund.
To find a Money Market Mutual Fund and to place a buy order:
- Log into your Qtrade account
- From the top menu click Trade
- Select Mutual Funds from the drop down menu
- Click the magnifying glass on the “Buy Fund Symbol” field
- In the Mutual Fund Search select a Fund Company and type “Money” as the Fund Description to see a list of Money Market Funds from that fund provider.
For HISA funds, refer to the links in the table below to find some of the HISA funds available.
Please note only F Class funds or no trailer fee paying versions can be bought at Qtrade except for TD.
