What are the online trading commissions for options?
When trading options, the commission and per contract fee apply to the trade.
For example:
- An option trade for 1 contact, the commission is $8.75 + $0.75 = $9.50
- An option trade for 10 contacts, the commission is $8.75 + $7.50 (or 10 x $0.75) = $16.25

What is the fee for an option assignment?
Option assignments occur when the option writer has been assigned, and has the obligation to buy or sell shares of the underlying security.
When you are assigned on an option, a flat fee of $30 is charged for each option assignment.
What are the fees for options exercises or trades placed by phone?
Option exercises occur when the option holder 'exercises' the right to buy or sell shares of the underlying security.
Phone orders and exercises are subject to the following commission schedule ($45 minimum):
